Die hier ausgestellten Fotos machten wir in diesem Sommer bei einer Reise mit der Eisenbahn durch Südosteuropa. Die Strecke führte von Prag über Wien – Rijeka – Zagreb – Sarajevo zunächst bis Sofia. Von dort ging es nach Bukarest und dann in die Hauptstadt der Republik Moldau, Chisinau.
Chisinau ist eine der am wenigsten bekannten Hauptstädte Europas und insofern ein Zielort für Neugierige.
Wir begegneten überall offenen und herzlichen Menschen, die uns immer gastfreundlich empfingen.
Ein Teil der von uns zurückgelegten Strecke wurde in der jüngsten Vergangenheit bekannt als Balkanroute, die von Flüchtlingen aus Syrien und Afghanistan als Fluchtweg aus Kriegsgebieten genutzt wurde.
We travelled by train the Southeast-Europe route via Prague – Vienna – Zagreb – Sarajevo – Bucharest – Sofia – Chisinau. Some of the capitals were not well known to us and made us very curious to find out more about them. We found a lot of nice places, met very friendly people and learned much about the history of these geopolitical and very interesting areas. In the last years this route became also known as the “Balkans-Route” used by refugees from Syria and Afghanistan.
This is an awfully slow train, said Molesworth as the Direct-Orient creaked through the darkness. Here and there was a yellow lantern, a fire far off, a light in a hut at a remote halt where, barely visible, the stationmaster could be seen five paces from his hut, presenting his flag to the dawdling express.
